Description

Inked with a Windsor and Newton #1 and #2. My first accident occurred on panel one when a blob of ink fell out of my crowquill onto the females face. Not the best feeling to have.

Damn quills! But why would you need it if you've got that WN#1?
I'm not sure about your intention. Are you copying panels or doing original work? Are the inks literal or interpreted?

In any event I would note that in order for the compositions to stand on their own (that is, without being corrected and finished by a colorist), there are a few things to attend. One example is how the figures beside the hero disappear if you look at the panel with squinted eyes. They need to be framed to stand out. Framing in black would work, but of course the other contrasts in the panel would have to be reversed.

Won't pick it apart, but one other example to dwell on in the large panel. Using the same trick of squinting, notice how the front edge of the girl disappears? This is her light, or weak, side. The edge needs to be reinforced somehow a) on the inside by incidental detail or echo lines, b) the line itself can be heavied up, or c) it can be framed from outside/behind.

Even if you're copying, these are good problems to noodle over.
